Claire Pattison, Senior Lecturer, Centre for Enterprise at Manchester Metropolitan University

11.45am: Embedding innovation to increase productivity within your small business

The Centre for Enterprise at Manchester Metropolitan University has been helping small firms uncover what innovation means for their business for over a decade, and more recently we’ve really honed our technique to embed innovation to create a repeatable process within the businesses we work with.

During this practical session we will explore how innovation can become a repeatable process for your business to support the development of market-led new products and services, in particularly focusing on the value you create for your customers.


About Claire Pattison

Claire is a Senior Lecturer Enterprise in Practice, Leadership & Growth thematic lead, HEA Fellow and Doctoral Researcher and joined the Centre for Enterprise in March 2013. Claire works across a series of programmes to support SME leadership, innovation, business growth, and entrepreneurship. Claire is the Programme Director of the CABS Help to Grow Management and the GMCA OpenSME platform.

Prior to this, Claire project managed several projects within the Centre for Enterprise; including ERDF SMART Cheshire Innovation Programme, ERDF Greater Manchester High Growth Network Programme (2016- 2018), ERDF Knowledge Action Network project, Erasmus+ Essence, developing a Smart Sustainable Cities Minor, and more recently transfer of this programme into Vietnam through Saunac, and the European multi-partner Leonardo da Vinci Transfer of Innovation project.

Claire graduated from Newcastle University in 2002 with a BA (Hons) in Politics, and gained her Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice in 2014. Claire is currently undertaking a PhD in gender and entrepreneurial identity.
